Roetin's New & Used Rod Photographic Description - Traction Industry History

#1 - Trailblazer	7/16" round host bar, 5" of 1/8" sq. turning carbide with blunt front end. 90 degree full length channel. Both 1 1/4" wear pads are flat and blunt. Bent back end.
#2 - New Econowear	7/16" round host bar, 4" of 1/8" sq. turning carbide with blunt front end. 90 degree full length channel. Two 3" hardweld wear pads. Bent back end.
#3 - Used Econowear	7/16" round host bar, 2 1/2" of turning carbide is left, significant wear on edges of full length channel. Some wear on both hardweld pads. Flat back end.
#4 - New Masterwear	7/16" round host bar, 5" of 1/8" turning carbide with tapered front end. Full length hardweld. Bent back end.
#5 - Used Masterwear	7/16" round host bar, 2 /12" of turning carbide is left. The front end hardweld is worn completely through, the back end has some hardweld left. Bent back end.
#6 - New X-10-one	7/16" round host bar, 4" of 1/8" sq. turning carbide with tapered front end. Full length channel. Both 1" wear pads are tapered. Two 3" hardweld wear pads. Tapered back end.
#7 - Used X-10-one	7/16" round host bar. Significant wear on the front end leaving only 1/4" of wear pad there. Most of the channel is gone front and back. The front of the 4" turning carbide is worn significantly. Tapered back end.
#8 - New X-10-two	7/16" round host bar, 5" of 1/8" sq. turning carbide with tapered front end. Full length channel. Two 1" carbide wear pads. Full hardweld between carbides. Tapered back end.
#9 - Used X-10-two	7/16" round host bar. 1/2" of the front wear pad is gone. Two separate pieces of the turning carbide have fallen out. The host bar is not worn very much. Tapered back end.
#10 - Used X-10-two	7/16" round host bar. Front carbide wear pad came out almost right away. Tapered back end.
#11 - New Superwear	1/2" round host bar, 6" of 3/16" sq. turning carbide with blunt front end. Two 1 1/2" tapered flat carbide wear pads. Full length channel. Almost complete hardweld between carbides. Flat back end.
#12 - New X-10-three	1/2" round host bar, 6" of 3/16" sq. turning carbide with a tapered front end. Two 1 1/2" tapered flat wear pads. Complete hardweld between carbides. Tapered back end.
#13 - Used X-10-three	1/2" round host bar. Significant wear in front, 3/4" of the front wear pad is gone. The front hardweld is significantly worn along with the front end of the turning carbide. Tapered back end.
#14 - Used X-10-three	1/2" round host bar. Significant wear in front, including the fact the 1/2" of the front wear pad is gone. The front hardweld is significantly worn along with the front turning carbide. The back channel without hardweld is significantly worn. Tapered back end.
#15 - New X-PR1	1/2" round host bar, 6 1/2 " of 60 degree turning carbide, 1/8" full length channel. Four 1" wear pads. Tapered back end.
#16 - Used 1998 X-10-three	1/2" round host bar. Significant wear in front, approximately half of the wear pad has chipped away. 7" of the original 7 1/4" 3/6" turning carbide has fallen out. Tapered back end.
#17 - New X-PRT	1/2" round host bar, 9" of 60 degree turning carbide, three 1" wear pads, full length 1/8" channel. Tapered back end.
#18 - New X-PRT	1/2" round host bar, 9" of 60 degree turning carbide, four 1" wear pads, full length 1/8" channel. Tapered back end.
#19 - Used X-PRT	1/2" round host bar. Excessive wear in front, only 1/8" of the front wear pad is left and only 4 1/4" of the turing carbide is left. The back channel is almost gone. Tapered back end.
#20 - New X-10-three 1998	1/2" round host bar, 7 1/4" of 3/16" sq. turning carbide with taper. Two 1 1/2" tapered wear pads. Hardweld between carbides. Tapered back end.
