Dual Axis Spindles
The spindles look different, but functionally there is no difference between single axis spindles and dual axis spindles, when it comes to turning. These skis tip/lean 10-12 degrees side to side just like all the center keeled skis, in a full turn. In icy corners the inside carbide of the outside ski carries the majority of the weight. A downside is that the functioning carbide is closer to the center of the track, in effect narrowing the ski stance, just like the Simmons and Precision skis. Despite what they say, all four carbides are never biting at the same time on ice when turning. There is no flexing under the spindles where the wear rods are attached!!!! REAL SKI SIENCE – Advertisement -link NO KEEL – NO PUSH - The artwork showing the dual keels shows the outside keel has less weight on it. That is why the plastic points on each side of the wear rod wear faster on the keel closest to the track.
