GSX 600 HO 1+1, 2004
March 3, 2004
Hi,
I have a 04, GSX 600 HO 1+1 that
does not like to turn in powder
snow. I have wound up in the
rhubarb a couple of times because of
it. It also requires a lot of
muscle to steer and I wouldn’t say
darts but it will follow in other
Precision ski paths.
I have tried every suspension
adjustment possible and I am
thinking about changing skis but if
any of your products will solve any
of these problems (especially the
powder snow problem). I sure would
like to hear from you.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

Brian,
Your skis are out of balance so they
are running down hill. Using a shim
on the rubber stop located under the
bolt that holds the ski to the
spindle will balance the skis.
When the skis are level
or running up hill darting goes
away.
Send me your address and I will mail
them to you. They are free. You
can make your own if you go to
Simple Darting Solution
Sounds too simple
doesn’t it?
Powder snow is another animal
because there is no texture to it.

No Ski Turns in
powder!!!
That is all hype to sell product!
Look at any photo of a sled turning
in water or deep powder and you will
see that the skis are facing
straight ahead or in the opposite
direction of the turn.
Turning On Water
It is the shifting of
the riders weight on the track that
turns the sled. You might consider
a longer track.

Hi Scott,
It would be great if you could send
me some shims.
You floored me when you said
a longer track will help in powder.
All my sleds have been long
tracks and I’ve never had a problem
in powder. This GSX is my first
short track and my first problem
with powder. Go figure.
Thanks for all the information.

Brian,
Just checking in to see how your
sled and shims are working for you
after you’ve had a chance to ride
more miles. I hope you are getting
in as many miles as you want!
Scott

Hi Scott,
I can never get as many miles as I
like to but I have put on over
1,100 miles. I can tell you that
my sled is handling like a dream.
I can’t believe how much of a
difference those shims make. No
darting and easier steering to boot.
Thanks for the shims and I look
forward to doing business with you
in the future.
