The finest wear rods and... we can prove it!

Their explanation is a crock of you know what!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oxymoron - High performance - Simmons wear bars
Oxymoron - High performance – Bottom Line carbides

Website - Accessories

Functionally, Simmons carbides for Gen 1 and Gen 2 are still terrible!!! Their original carbides weren't bad enough, so 15 years later they came up with an even worse carbide. Bottom Line carbides are nothing to brag about!!!

Tip to tip the original ski was 43" so halfway would be 21 1/2".

Note the 3" span from ski center to the spindle bolt.

It is common knowledge that Simmons carbides have always worn heavy on the front ends of the Gen I &II skis.

Note that their original 4" carbide started 1/2" in front of the spindle. This does nothing for control!!!

Note that their next latest and greatest 6"carbide starts 1/4" in front of the spindle. That's even worse!!!

In my opinion Simmons Gen I and II are the 2 worst skis functionally ever, for trail riding. For the simple reason, Ski Doo's Precision ski carbides are designed better than the Simmons carbides!!! Besides the fact, the inside carbides on both skis are around 2 to 2 1/2" closer to the center of the sled narrowing the ski stance. A 5th grade snowmobiler could do better!

Why we do not make dual runner rods

It does not matter what the relationship of the lengthwise mid-point of the ski is and the center of the wear rod, when it comes to carbide placement!!!!!!!!!!

Their resistance to changing how their carbide is placed shows a lack of concern for the safety of their Gen I & II customers!!!!!!!

Their Gen III carbides are close to being located correctly yet they still sell the old dis-functional style Gen I & II wear rods.
