Flat Ski Versus
V-Shaped Ski

The finest wear rods and... we can prove it!

Flat Ski

  • Needs less snow for floatation.
  • Less wear rod wear.
  • Less resistance to turn.
  • Less darting.

V-Shaped Ski

  • Needs more snow for floatation.
  • More wear rod wear.
  • More resistance to turn.
  • More darting.
-The flat ski needs 3" of heavy wet snow to get the wear rod off the ground.

-The V-shaped ski needs 6" of heavy wet snow to get the wear rod off the ground. The added pressure on it's wear rod will shave more snow off of the corners.  Another effect will be increased darting because the wear rod ruts will be deeper.  To maintain the trails, more grooming and more snowfall will be needed.
